I was recently writing up a brochure for Pages for the Dark Horses; one that will be handed out at a local home school sale coming up in March. One of the excerpts from it was this:
“Over eight years ago, my family took a step of faith, and we started our journey down this road… one that would lead my parents halfway around the world, in order that they may hold in their arms one child. A treasure we had prayed for, longed for, and loved. Yet despite our efforts she did not love us. For the devastating reality was… no one had ever loved her… she’d never learned from the ones who should have taught her. Strangely, this child, was the very one the Lord used to teach us how to love… to love as the Father loves. And because of the adoption, today, she too loves as the Father loves.”
Today I was making a video of my siblings singing. One of the songs “All Over the World” they had written themselves. As I sat here and read through the lyrics I’d typed out, I thought about the story from my brochure and was moved at how true that transformation in my sister was. Here are the lyrics she and my little brother wrote:
All Over the World
January 2012
All over the world
All over the world
God is our Shepherd
We came from orphanages
Long ago
We are from a home now
We got a mom and dad
All over the world
God loves us too
Every day, every day
We love God all the time
He’s our Savior, God is our Savior
He loves us very much
Jesus, Jesus
He’s our… our Mighty God
God loves us, we love God
Jesus is a love for me and you
Jesus is a love for me and you
All over the world
All over the world
Jesus loves us, we love Him
God is our special Mighty God
God is the only God of Israel
All over the world
All over the world
One who came to us, having never known love has now come to declare: God loves us too…We love God all the time… He loves us very much…God loves us, we love God… Jesus is love for me and you…Jesus loves us, we love Him!
This is what Pages for the Dark Horses is all about.
